Marlies Schulte is exhibiting her paper and metal transformations.

It is precisely at Ôkhra, the Ochre Ecomuseum, where she learned metalwork and papermaking, that Marlies Schulte is exhibiting her works. The exhibition is entitled “Transformation” because her artistic practice encompasses several techniques and diverse themes. The artist transforms the materials, and the creation transforms the artist. As for the viewer of the paintings, they too are transformed by what they see, which varies according to the light ! The process is therefore infinite. Marlies Schulte chose to dedicate herself to art after teaching languages, French and Spanish, for 30 years. « In my artistic development, I have been guided by the desire to find the secret of things and make it visible », she says. To do this, she had to master several techniques and find the material, form, and color that convey her feelings. After working with pastels and watercolors, she is currently focusing on transforming metal and plant materials, but her artistic journey continues, and perhaps she will soon return with other transformations.

Ôkhra - Ochre Ecomuseum, 570 route d'Apt. Exhibition until August 9th, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm.
Artist available by appointment. Tel. +33 6 78 86 80 58 - www.marlies-schulte.com.
